Mark has over 20 years of science leadership with The Nature Conservancy in leadership roles for the North and Central Coast region, the launch of the California Migratory Bird Initiative, and the BirdReturns program. He has also led research projects on bird population biology and conservation science throughout California. Before joining TNC, Mark was the Executive Director of Field Station Programs at San Diego State University, Co-Director of Sedgwick Reserve, and Co-Manager of Sagehen Creek Field Station near Truckee. He also worked as a wildlife biologist in Tahoe National Forest for the U.S. Forest Service.
